The original question posed to me was: “What do you feel your work is really about?” This has led me to read about landscape theory again, which in turn has led me to the above question. The book Landscape Theory edited by Rachael Ziady DeLue and James Elkins puts forward the idea that the landscape in which you live helps in the formation of the self. I have enjoyed mentally revisiting the landscapes of my childhood which have included: the seaside as my everyday playground, walks in forests and bluebell woods, climbing mountains, castles and cathedrals, sailing on rivers, lakes and the sea. So I think I can safely say; I have been and continue to be formed by the landscape through which I walk. A process through which I feel I might discover some amazing things.
